What's New

Women's Golf Council Tournaments
The Women's Golf Council will hold its first events of the season on Saturday, April 26 at Eagle Falls Golf Course (Indio) and on Saturday, May 31 at Dos Lagos Golf Course (Corona). The formats will be a Better Ball of Partners at Eagle Falls and a Stableford at Dos Lagos. Both events are open to any woman golfer with a verifiable USGA Handicap Index. Drive, Chip and Putt Championship Registration Now Open
Local qualifying will be held during May, June and July for participation in the 2015 National Drive, Chip and Putt Finals at Augusta National Golf Club. For a list of sites, eligibility requirements and registration information, see the flyer. Volunteers are also needed at many of the local qualifying sites. See the volunteer's flyer for more information.

Women on Course Event at Los Coyotes Country Club
Women on Course is hosting a signature women's golf event at Los Coyotes Country Club on Monday, April 28 from 3-7p. Activities include golf, 19th hole festivities with food, wine and gift bags, and social and business networking. All skill levels are welcome. The Queen Mary Golf Classic at Virginia Country Club
The Queen Mary will host a fun day of Championship golf, prizes and entertainment at the first annual Queen Mary Golf Classic on Monday, April 28th beginning at 8a. The event will be held at the historic Virginia Country Club, and proceeds will benefit the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House. Read the media rlease. Mark Your Calendars for the 2014 CWAC Events
The 36th Annual CWAC State Senior Women's Amateur Championship will be held on May 19-20 at the (newly remodeled) Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach. The tournament is open to female amateurs 50 years and over with a USGA Handicap index of 22.3 or lower. Visit the CWAC website for more information and/or to registrer. Other events on the CWAC calendar include the 65th Annual State Junior Girls' Championship on June 23-26 at Monterey Peninsula Country Club and the 48th Annual State Women's Amateur Championship on August 5-8 at Quail Lodge Golf Club.

The 2014 California Women's Championship
The 19th Annual California Women's Championship (CWC) will be held on July 14-16 at the beautiful Ojai Valley Inn and Spa Golf Course. The tournament is open to female amateur golfers who are residents of California and have a USGA Handicap Index of 10.7 or below. See the flyer or click for the registration form. 2014 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship
On July 14-19 the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links will be contested for the last time. See the flyer HERE. If you're a female public-course player and have a USGA Handicap Index of 18.4 or lower, you can compete for one of the most prestigious titles in women's amateur golf. There is an 18-hole qualifying round to determine the field for the national championship. The deadline to enter is 5 p.m. (EDT) on May 14, 2014. Mark Your Calendars for the 2015 U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship
The 2015 U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship will be held on May 9-13, 2015 at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon. See the flyer for details. 18-hole Four-Ball qualifying rounds will be held nationwide with two scheduled for Southern California, the first on September 15, 2014 at Mission Hills Country Club (the Dinah Shore Tournament Course) and the second on January 7, 2015 at La Costa Resort (The Legends, formerly the South, Course). The Championship entry deadline is August 6, 2014 and applications will be available on the USGA website the fourth week of April. Applicants should also be aware that the USGA's amended groove regulations will be in effect for the Championship and the qualifiers.

USGA to Institute International Qualifying for Women's Open
In recognition of the global growth and strength of women's golf, the United States Golf Association will introduce international qualifying for the U.S. Women's Open Championship, beginning in 2014. Read the press release.

USGA and Chevron Announce STEM Scholarship Program
The USGA and Chevron announced a new scholarship program for qualified high school seniors who are pursuing college careers in STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering or math). Full details and an application can be found at this link, or read the press release for more information.
